The Sony AW-Q170A supports DVD+R/RW and DVD-R/RW media including the latest
double and dual layer DVD Recordable discs. Rewritable DVDs are recorded at
8x (DVD+RW) or 6x (DVD-RW) speed and the drive offers 48x CD speed. The AW-Q170A
is equipped with a fast Ultra DMA Mode 2 ATAPI interface. The AW-Q170A includes
an intelligent vibration reduction system with an "Auto Balancer Spindle"
(ABS) to maintain high read/write performance. To reduce vibration and noise
and increase user safety with poor quality media, the drive defaults to 40x
CD speed while the unique "Turbo Boost Control" feature allows users
to select 48x speed by the push of a button. Further more, heat dissipation
is well considered that no cooling fan is needed and mechanical vibration is
well controlled by VAS vibration reduction system. AW-Q170A with a self-cooling
